Turrets,[1] also known as sentry guns[2] and gun towers,[3] are large weapons emplacements that are strategically situated around the Campaigner's Fortress in "The Final Confrontation" as well as "The Lost Land."
Appearance[]
Turrets are trapezoidal gun emplacements. They have two medium-sized barrels with which they fire at intruders.
Gameplay[]
Turrets are placed throughout the last two levels of Dinosaur Hunter. They are stationed in high places for tactical advantage. They have a high rate of fire and will constantly hit the player, though their shots can be easily strafed. To take out the Turrets, use energy or explosive weaponry, such as the Alien Weapon or the Quad Rocket Launcher.
With the Hardcore difficulty mode introduced in Night Dive Studios' HD remaster, Turrets can be considered the most unfair enemy in the game, as their already-superb aim has become almost perfect. Regardless, the strategies listed above can still be of use, and energy and explosive weaponry are still the best ways to dispose of them.
