The Mini-Raptor is a small theropod dinosaur that made its first appearance in Propaganda Games' 2008 title, Turok.
Appearance
Mini-Raptors make their first appearance in "The Lost Land." They are depicted as being a bright blue with bright yellow eyes. They are shown to be small and fast, and they always travel in packs so it's very easy for players and enemies alike, to get overwhelmed.
They are very common in early levels up until "Mother Superior," where their presence drops drastically. They are completely gone by "Salt in the Wound."
Gameplay
These dinosaurs act much like the Compsognathus of Turok: Evolution. They will nibble at the player's ankles and will also attack in groups.
They are very weak in a one-on-one fight; however, in groups they can easily take the player down, due to repeated hits and slashes from their claws and teeth, especially on Inhuman difficulty. They are very weak to standard weapons, and ORO P23 Combat Knife kills are very effective on them. They are not attracted to flares, making the ORO Enforcer Shotgun's secondary fire useless against them. In addition, ORO FG8 Frag Grenades will instantly blow them to bits. They are also vulnerable to Tek Arrows.
The Mini-Raptors will also attempt to leap onto the player in an attempt to rip their throats out; this can be countered by pressing the appropriate buttons when prompted, which will cause Turok to either kill or drop the dinosaur.
