[edit] Biography
Turok's former mentor and leader of Wolf Pack, an elite military organization in which Turok was being trained in. Roland Kane has command over the Mendel-Grumman soldiers that patrol across the planet, and is always trying to stop Turok and the others of Whiskey Company. A ruthless killer, Turok gained much of his special-operations knowledge from him. Kane was commissioned by Mendel-Grumman to explore this planet for new places of experimentation and to find new forms of weaponry. It seems that Kane traveled from one base to another during the progress of the game, as video journals can be found in cutscenes at different parts of the planet. In missions like "The Shortest Straw", a video of him is seen explaining how the effects of the toxins of The Giant Dragonflies can be used as a chemical bioweapon. In a later video he plans on containing and shipping the toxins to MG HQ for use as a first strike killing agent that can easily kill thousands.
[edit] Death
After Turok shot down Kane's MG Ship, killing everyone inside but him, Kane dragged himself out of the burning wreck to confront Turok. Kane then pulled out a Knife, and seeing Turok's lack [of a knife] there of, jumped at him. But, unfortunately for Kane, Turok overpowered him, forced the knife into him, jamming it deep into his chest. Although it is very unlikely, medical professionals say that surviving a stab wound in the heart is possible to survive - so Kane may have been helped before he died, which is likely, because he was stabbed in an MG base and the stab that supposedly killed Kane was not to the heart, but to the middle(ish) of the chest. And of course, who do you hear as your commander in multiplayer (team-based game modes only?) as Wolf Pack? Kane! And the events of multiplayer are happening after the main storyline.
[edit] Quotes
- "You'll never be that good." (After a failed attempt by Turok to practice knife killing him)
- "You should of left when you had the chance."
- "What? No knife?"
- "Kill her. She's just a girl."
- Turok: "A warrior follows his heart" Kane: "Phh (possibly a spitting sound?)"
