John Fireseed, also known as The Forsaken One, became Turok in 1972. John is the older brother of Carl Fireseed and the father of Joshua Fireseed.
John failed at being Turok. He could not handle the pressure and demands of the task. That failure destroyed him as a Turok and a man. Carl took the Light Burden from John because he reneged on his duties. John then disappeared and was never seen again.
In the Turok/Timewalker comic, Ivar and Shadow Man found John's grave in Deadside.
