Overview

"The first distance weapon you collect, the Bow offers the ability to strike from afar. Remember to collect extra arrows, and that you can re-equip your quiver by recovering any standard arrows you shoot."
Turok: Evolution manual[1]

The Bow is a weapon that appears in several Turok games. It is usually the second weapon that the player starts with. The standard Bow first appeared in Turok 2: Seeds of Evil.

Appearance[]

The Bow is typically made of wood, most likely from tree branches. It is your standard makeshift bow.

Gameplay[]

Turok 2: Seeds of Evil[]

The Bow is the second starting weapon in Seeds of Evil. It only carries standard arrows and can be charged so the arrows fly farther.

It is quite useful in "The Port of Adia" for long distance attacks and destroying explosive-filled barrels from a safe distance. Sometimes the player can get an instant kill if the weapon is aimed perfectly at an enemy's head.

This weapon is only recommended for use in "The Port of Adia" and is rendered pointless once Joshua obtains the Tek Bow. Fired arrows can be retrieved once they hit their target, that is if the arrows are within reach or if they were not destroyed in an explosion.

The Bow can be upgraded to the Tek Bow.

Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion[]

The Bow appears once more as the second starter weapon to both Danielle and Joseph Fireseed. Its function is largely unchanged. A major difference is that it can be fired quicker and farther without a charge, although it is still required to charge the Bow for arrows to fly even farther.

Arrows can still be retrieved from defeated enemies and other areas. It is still only effective in the first chapter, and its upgrades will prove to be of better use in later chapters.

  • Danielle can upgrade to the Tek Bow.
  • Joseph can upgrade to the Storm Bow.

Turok: Evolution[]

The Bow returns again in this prequel to Turok: Dinosaur Hunter. It again serves as the second starter weapon and remains unchanged for the most part.

Subsequent, non-charged shots are slower compared to Shadow of Oblivion's Bow but also fly farther without a charge. Eventually, the player can retrieve arrows that are tipped with explosives that detonate upon impact. Standard arrows cannot be retrieved from corpses of Sleg soldiers, but they can, however, be retrieved from dinosaurs.

The weapon cannot be upgraded to the Tek Bow, with the two being independent weapons akin to Seeds of Evil's incarnation, the latter of which has the ability to use poison arrows and zoom in while aiming.

Ammo pickups[]

Turok 2: Seeds of Evil[]

  • Arrow: Restores a single arrow, retrieved from defeated enemies and other places.
  • Arrows Pick Up: Restore 5 arrows.
  • Quiver: Restore 10 arrows.

Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion[]

  • Arrow: Restores a single arrow, retrieved from defeated enemies and other places.
  • Quiver: Restores 5 arrows.

Turok: Evolution[]

  • Quiver: Restores 10 arrows.
  • EXP Quiver: Restores 10 explosive arrows.

Trivia[]

  • The Bow did not appear in Turok: Dinosaur Hunter. Instead, the Tek Bow was the second starter weapon but had the same functions. The only difference is that it could fire both standard and Tek arrows. This would be the only time that the Tek Bow would be the second starter weapon.
