Enemies

From Turok Wiki

[edit] Introduction

  • These are the enemies found in Turok.

There are many types of enemies encountered in the video game Turok. As you progress throughout the game, the enemies become tougher and more resilient to damage from the weapons used by Joseph Turok. There are two types of enemies, Human, and Creature.

[edit] Human Enemies

Soldier: The soldier is the basic human enemy encountered during the course of the game. Capable of using multiple weapons, they are adept at military tactics, but fall easily to stealth attacks. Usually encountered in groups, they are not to be taken lightly.

[edit] Creature Enemies

Tyrannosaurus Rex: The T-Rex is featured only at a few instances in Turok. It appears however, that their size is dramatically larger than actual T-Rexs' were. These dinosaurs are very resistant to damage, and can kill Turok in a matter of seconds. Juveniles also are encountered.

Giganotosaurus: This creature is encountered only in the level Death Valley. It's mistakenly called a T-Rex by Slade due to some similar features. It is coloured a dirty brown mixed with muddy red, has three fingers (with unfitting large arms), impossible to kill and has a short attention span. Fortunately there are plenty of raptors to keep it distracted.

Utahraptor: This is one of the fiercest breeds of raptor, capable of devouring enemies withing minutes. Frequently found around nests, they can be tricked into attacking enemy soldiers. These are also attracted to flares.

Juvenile raptors: Younger versions of the Utahraptor that attack Compsognathus and Humans. They are annoying when trying to take down other enemies. Note that they have more spines on their back than adult raptors.

Lurkers: Fast, agile catlike dinosaurs that are quite difficult to kill. They can climb nearby trees and wait for the player to stray close to them to attack.

Soldier Bugs: Found in caves, the giant scorpions are a force to be reckoned with. They attack with their pincers and poison tipped tails. Usually striped in color, and are able to burrow through solid rock and concrete, making them a very versatile enemy.

Parasaurolophus: These large, duck-billed herbivores are rare, and will generally ignore Turok. If they are provoked however, they will attempt to attack Turok by hitting him with their tail. They can be killed with the knife, like the raptors. A good tactic is to attack them, stand back and watch them go stampeding into enemies.

Compsognathus: These are much smaller dinosaurs, usually the size of a juvenile raptor and are usually docile, running around Turok and his allies, but not attacking. They can be grabbed by the neck and sliced with the knife.

Dilophosaurus: These are larger than a Utahraptor, and smaller than a T-rex. They are reddish in color, with 2 large circular crests sticking from the top of their head. If they are knocked down by a explosion such as that of a Frag Grenade you can knife kill it before it stands up. They can kill a human by grabbing them (In their mouths) by the legs and slamming the victim hard onto the ground. This move either breaks the person's spine or neck since the victim dies instantly.

Juvenile T-Rex: These are smaller versions of the T-Rex, and are just as ferocious. They are more muscular in appearence than the raptors.

Juvenile Spinosaurus: These are smaller versions of the Spinosaurus, an enemy not fought in the game. They can be identified by their throat bags and bones which protrude from their backs.
