"This is the big papa of all those Fireborns you'll see in Level 4. It draws its power from the heat of the lava. If you can avoid its fiery attack and restrict its access to the lava, victory won't be far away!"
The Official Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion Strategy Guide[1]

The Alpha Fireborn is the progenitor of the Fireborn. This creature appears as one of the bosses in Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion.

Appearance[]

The Alpha Fireborn is a Dinosoid with a hard shell that covers its entire body, which seems to be made up of scales and molten rock. Its back and head are covered with odd, protruding tubes. Its eyes are fiery, and its mouth its filled with an array of fangs. Its large arms are endowed with a pair of sharp claws. Instead of legs, the Alpha Fireborn has a tail with a fin which it uses to swim through lava.

Gameplay[]

While fighting the Alpha Fireborn, the environment must be used to the player's advantage. Blocking its access to the lava by destroying its chamber's lava stalactite will weaken it and allow it to be killed by regular weaponry. Otherwise, the Alpha Fireborn will submerge itself in the lava and regain its health. It attacks the player by firing globs of lava from the openings on its head.
